Five Best Valentine’s Deals

Valentine's Day doesn't need to be expensive. You can quickly buy or make something special for your loved one without blowing your budget, so Watch My Wallet have come up with a few ideas for this February 14th.

Valentine’s Jewellery

Valentines CufflinksJewellery makes a great gift for any event.

We love these cufflinks available from Not on the High Street. You can have these handcrafted wooden accessories engraved with phrases such as “You are the bacon to my sarnie”, “You are the fish to my chips” and “You are the C3PO to my R2D2”.

The handcuffs cost £25 plus £2.75 for delivery.

We also like this simple heart shaped pendant you can have personalised from Not on the High Street.

Flowers (and seeds)

Send a beautiful bouquet to your significant other this Valentines Day.

We found a box of 18 roses for £19.00 from Asda. This is pretty good value for money and this deal includes delivery.

Marks and Spencer also have some nice bouquets but they come with a minimum price tag of £20.

If you’re looking for the perfect present for a green-fingered loved one this Valentine’s Day, Seed Pantry has some great kits to get you and your sweetheart sowing the seeds of love. With seeds to grow five different types of wild flowers: field poppies, yarrow, musk mallow, chamomile and wallflowers, the wild flower seed starter pack - a bargain at £26 - is the gift that keeps on giving.

Romantic Holiday

Secret Escapes offer luxury holidays at a discounted rate.

We found a three night trip to Iceland, staying at a four star Hilton hotel, for £469 per person. This deal includes a tour to see the Northern Lights as well as a trip to the hot springs and waterfalls of the Golden Circle.

There are plenty of other offers to browse on the website including cheap spa days or more expensive trips around the world.

Valentine’s Day Basics

Valentines ThorntonsInstead of one big present, you could create a hamper of little things to impress your Valentine.

Aldi have a great deal running on Thornton’s Premium Collection chocolates, now just £2.99.

You could also throw in 6 heart shaped balloons which are currently on sale at Poundland.

Boots have a 3 for 2 sale running on Yankee Candles. As far as candles go, this is a fairly expensive brand, but it you’re other half likes them, you may as well stock up during the sale.

Vouchers

If money is tight, you could easily make some free, thoughtful gifts by creating vouchers for your loved one.

This could include things like a night-off from washing up, an I-owe-you for a nice bottle of wine, or an invitation to a home cooked meal of their choice.

You don't need to be particularly creative for this to work. Just jot a few ideas down and you've got a fun, free Valentine's gift.
