Budget smartphone from Sony offers entry level
camera, processor etc but with latest Android OS

Sony's Xperia range is joined by the Tipo later in August, which
is an entry level smartphone, aimed at those who are probably still
using a traditional mobile with limited internet browsing
Fact is, more shopping, government services and local businesses
are going online, so without a smartphone you could be missing out
on things like special voucher codes or deals, or perhaps scanning
barcodes to find the best price on something in the
XPERIA TIPO FEATURES
With a 3.2 inch screen,
3.2MP camera, plus an 800MHz processor the Tipo has industry
standard basic spec, plus it's a good looking smartphone - you
expect that from Sony.
It also runs the latest Android software, called Ice Cream
Sandwich, which means online browsing and using apps should be
smooth and easy.
It comes pre-loaded with Facebook and Google by the way, so if
you're a first-timer when it comes to smartphones, you'll soon get
the hang of using your phone to keep in touch on the move. It also
has the usual built-in radio, music/entertainment download store
and you can take video clips as well as still shots with the
The Xperia Tipo also has a micro SD slot, you can store up to
32GB of data on the card if you want. That's useful as the Tipo has
2.9GB of internal storage, which is not that huge if you like
downloading lots of music and video.

IS THE TIPO WORTH A LOOK?
Best Feature: Budget price tag, nice
compact design makes it easy to carry.
Worst Feature: Relatively small screen
might prove a bit of a pain in the long run.
Area for Improvement: Can't really argue about
the overall quality or features for the price, but shop around as
there are plenty of mobiles under £100 which offer similar
